This policy describes how Fiber Router Manager ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. The app helps you manage your home network, run speed tests, and monitor connected devices.
01 Information we collect
Network & router data LOCAL
To provide core features like universal router scanning and specific management for Huawei and China Mobile routers, the app accesses:
- Local network information: MAC addresses, IP addresses, and hostnames of devices connected to your network.
- Router configuration: Wi-Fi SSIDs, passwords, and security settings — accessed only when you choose to view or edit them.
- Traffic statistics: real-time and cumulative upload/download data usage.
- Gateway data: your local default gateway, used to reach your router's admin console.
User-provided information CLOUD SYNC
To keep your setup intact across app reinstalls:
- Custom device names: if you rename a device, we store a hash of its MAC address alongside your custom name in Google Firebase Firestore.
- App settings: theme preference and saved router IP addresses are stored locally and may be backed up to your cloud account.
Diagnostic & performance data CLOUD SYNC
We use Google Firebase to keep the app stable:
- Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage data — feature use, button taps — to guide improvements.
- Firebase Crashlytics: technical logs collected when the app crashes, to help us fix bugs.
- Firebase Remote Config: basic device info used to manage app versions and maintenance states.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: a device token, used to deliver network alerts.
Speed test data NETWORK
Running a speed test connects the app to third-party servers such as Cloudflare or OVH to measure throughput and latency. No personal information is sent to these servers.
02 Permissions
- Location (approximate/precise): required by Android to scan Wi-Fi and discover local network devices. We do not track your physical location.
- Nearby devices: required on newer Android versions to find and connect to your router hardware.
- Notifications: used to alert you about network status or app updates.
03 How we use your information
- To provide universal network scanning and router controls.
- To sync your custom device names and settings across your devices.
- To measure network performance through speed tests.
- To send important updates about app maintenance or critical security fixes.
04 Data sharing & disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers — Google Firebase — needed to run the app's infrastructure and analytics. These providers are bound by their own privacy standards.
05 Data retention & deletion
- Local router data: statistics and temporary logs live on your device and clear when you uninstall the app.
- Cloud data: custom device names and notification tokens are stored in Firebase. You can request deletion of your synced data at any time — see contact details below.
06 Security
We rely on Google Firebase's industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All communication between the app and the cloud is encrypted in transit.
07 Children's privacy
Fiber Router Manager is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant change will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
